What is it?
L.A. TAN is the fastest growing tanning salon chain in the Midwest region with over 130 salons. L.A TAN’s state of the art tanning salons are managed by highly trained and certified skin care professionals.
Goal.
Taking this existing mark:
and redesign it in a week, to be clean and valuable.
When thinking of the name 'L.A. Tan' I thought of beaches. Thus, I explored different ways to render the mark as a typography mark along with combining curves. I also explored the legibility of the mark.
Design.
A minimal identity mark symbolizing a sunset/sunrise that L.A. beaches are associated with. It further expresses tan lines when one gets a tan. Thus the background color is the official 'tan' color.
